damn turbo or nitrous?  or is he a crazy crazy na guy
Pretty much all stock stuff internally, but external:
Intercooled, some volvo turbo, and used to do nitrous as well, but since the volvo turbo no nitrous. He also welds the spider gears in the trans solid, has a wicked 4 puck solid clutch, and some drag slicks. Some special suspension stuff to help him corner when not drag racing and some other stuff to help him launch.
The inside is gutted except for a the gauges, wiring, and 2 seats. No carpet or roof. I think it weighs a little less than 1600lbs.

Edit*he could be doing better I believe if he ran more cam. He has the stock GTI grind and all the bigger ones he tried he didn't like. Not because of performance, but around town drivability was poor. With his clutch and welded spiders it is hard to drive in say a drive through. With the bigger less vacuum, tough idle cam it is pretty much a park and walk in car and he doesn't want that. *

VWs with big cams are RETARDED to drive in drive thrus or traffic jams. only reason my car still only has a 268* neuspeed cam is because its as big as i wanna go, it starts bucking at low speeds. worn engine mounts + a engine that lopes = a not so fun low speed driving experience.
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.
