T2 and stock IC worth it?
« on: August 10, 2007, 01:22:48 pm »
Im thinking of replacing the Eco-IP with a normal 9mm full-turbo LDA IP, and fitting a stock full-turbo Passat IC.
Is it worth the effort considering my small turbo? Would 1.2bar increase the exhaust pressure too much?

I can get an IP and the not-so-good IC VERY cheap but it still takes a bit of tinkering to mount it all.
Iīm not daydreaming about superhigh HP, itīs my daily driver and I need to keep it reliable, so itīll come down to a slight mod of the boost pin and increased max fueling, but nothing else.
Should I?

15psi is what I planned on, donīt want to stress the engine too much. My turbo is a Garrett T2, not K14.
Thanks Andrew, Iīll call the IP seller today!

If I have about 12psi of boost and fueling adjusted so it wonīt smoke much, is it safe to drive without an IC for a while?

Oh, and the kitty is taken care of already!

I second using a good intercooler if you are planning on intercooling.
