01M Transmission valve link help

Guys and ladies,
I am trying to re-attach my manual valve link for my 01M transmission.
2001 Jetta, 2.0

Swapped out the valve body, new solenoids. Can't put the link back on. Please for the love of all that is holy help this teacher who is willingly a student!
