Orifice - Altitude Compensation System WANTED

(1/1)

thomas m:
I doubt if this part is available for sale See part #2 on the diagram.

It's looks like a simple orifice, called a "choke" on EKTA.CC parts catalog.

I had my pump rebuilt a couple of years ago. The techs apparently scrapped the part along with the old hose. I don't know how important it is, but I would like to put it back into the line with a commercial line orifice.

This is the source of air that the vacuum pump is pulling against through the air filter(3) and regulator(1) for the altitude compensation feature on the ME engine pump.

Does anyone know the hole size in that orifice (chock). Could you measure it?

Thanks

PS: I wonder what shape that air filter is in for not having been changed for 25 years???

Dakotakid:
You know? The nice thing about those systems is that they always manage to fit in each and every trash can which was ever built....without fail.

thomas m:
Hey Dakotakid !!

If you haven't emptied your trash yet, I will pay something plus shipping for any of the numbered components on the diagram.
That goes for anyone else who wants to get rid of this stuff.

I understand that a lot of us just throw this stuff out, but I'm glad some of it still gets "recycled". I'd like to try to keep the systems
as original as possible on this vehicle.

Anyway, I agree with your signature and I'm "sticking with the old dinosaur equipment".

Thanks for the comment.

You can accomplish the exact same effect by cutting a few pieces of cardboard.  Place one under the accelerator pedal for every 2000' you ascend in elevation.
