No pickups in Europe until 85.
(The tooling was moved from PA in 84 I think).

i still disagree, there are alot of people on the vortex in the mk1 forum, not the whored out mk4 forum, i recall one guy who works for vw dealers saying some guy came in with a turbo diesel caddy, and he asked him if he had done an engine swap, and the guy told him no, and that he had had the truck since new.

I was told by someone working close with the westmoreland factory back in the day and a pickup fan that there were TD pickups produced, only in 83 and the number was no more than 80 of them.
and also i looked and etka shows no td for the 83 and 84 jetta, and i'm sure it's well know that they were available those years.
I have had no problems finding all sorts of engine code "CY" (1.6lTD) parts and other documentation in ETKA for the 1983 and 1984 Jetta-Germany.
