Hey IDI fans! I have an older mk1 metal outer timing belt cover that I would like to mate up to my ahu mk1 swap. a few questions:
1) is there a metal backing plate that covers the back side of the cam gear down around the head and pump area from getting crap in it? Anyone have a part number / picture of this part?
2) is there a piece that covers the area around where the mount goes into the block? Or is this open to air / debree?
3) Does anyone know where to get replacement rubber mounts for the outer upper cover?
Picture for reference:

4) Any suggestions on how to run these setups / get it to protect a little more? Does anyone have issues with crap getting into the bottom of the lower cover with these areas open?
Will that cover clear the roller between the pump and cam?
No, the roller will be in the middle of the metal edge. The difference between the 1.9 and 1.6 is the addition of the 1/2" at the top of the block. The cam is above and the pump below that difference, so the sprockets won't line up with the cover. Add to that the fact that it's also terrible at keeping the crap out of the timing belt. I'd use the AHU parts and cut the section out for the mount.
