2.25 turbo back, but quiet
« on: February 22, 2014, 07:32:06 am »
This may not be possible but I have to ask.  I'm going with 2.25 from the turbo back.  Anyone find a good flowing 2.25 muffler that is somewhat quiet.  Quiet as in stock sounding.  Thanks

Spiral flow magnaflow is supposed to be highflow but not sure about the noise reduction capabilities.

My spiral mufflers  resonate at peak torque.
I had 2.25  on my Caddy, and it didn't seem to make  much difference what pair of mufflers I used in which order.  best bet is make it as long as the  factory system.

My buddy has a VNT 15 on a Rabbit with 2.25 and a bosal muffler.
 Techtonics tuning setup.
It sounds really nice. Not as loud as my 2.5"s with flowmaster resonator or the one with a 6x9 muffler.

I was considering the techtonics 2.25 setup. I'll probably just get it. If you want better airflow your gonna have some more sound as well.

I run a catless 2 1/4" downpipe ( has a inline res to replace the cat ) then to a magnaflow 2.5 " catback with resonator and muffler and my car is no louder then stock.  On my 2001 Jetta TDI.

i had 2.25tt exhaust on my 1.6td, it was probably quieter than a fully stock 1.6na haha.  really not very loud at all other than typical diesel noise.  the turbos really do quite a good job of making these engines quieter, on the intake and exhaust sides.
