WTB: Early cluster with tach (gas or diesel)
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:01:18 pm »
I'm looking for an early rabbit/scirocco cluster with tachometer.  Should look like this:

I'd actually prefer a gas tach, but w-terminal diesel tach is ok too (if they had them back then).  Let me know cost shipped to 86001.

ive never seen an early diesel rabbit with a tach.. pretty sure they didnt exist. ive never even heard people talking about them..

too bad you didnt need it last week tho, there was a NICE cluster in a 78 rabbit, something like 42k miles on it, with a tach.. i almost pulled it anyways, even tho i didnt need it, but i didnt..

w terminal started in 82 w shift light and dynamic oil pressure.. so i really doubt one was made... but same token years ago myke_w had a westy diesel tach cluster that was factory.. part # and all.. but did not exist to look it up.. 0 miles.. 5k red line.. not a "made up one" from a gasser..

Dang thought there was one on CL but is for the 81 Caddy.  Square block not the rounds.  Kind of steep in price at 200 bucks.  Might be a tad crazy priced.

$200 for a mk1 VW gauge cluster is INSANE..

$50 is even on the high side IMHO..

Yeah the price of 40 is more what I consider reasonable.  I wonder if he'd take it.  The listing has been going for months now.

Yeah, I didn't think there were diesel tach early style clusters.

Anyway...  Anyone got an early gasser tach cluster? :)

I probably have a bunch of parts and pieces but I would guess all my bezel pieces are damaged by now. Do you just need parts or whole thing?

I'm really just looking for the tach, fuel and water temp gauges and the foil.  It looks like I found one from another seller.  I'll let you know if it falls through.

If its not too late to say, that I've got 5 or 6 of those clusters in varying conditions. If everyone fails to provide one, I'd get you one for trade ::)?

PM me for info on trade.
