Hello! I know this may be a bit strange to put in a rabbit but I'm looking around at getting an EGT gauge and i was wondering if anyone had heard anything about glow shift gauges. I know that the westach/micro-1000 combo is a popular choice around here and I almost ordered one today. But i'm just trying to shop around a bit more before I jump on the first combo I've seen. So i looked up some other gauges and a couple of diesel truck people are using the 3 in one glowshift gauges.
I'm not obsessed with how they look. But it's got a boost/egt/water temp gauge all in one with three senders all for 172$ which seems like a really good price with some neat functionality of only needing one gauge. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with these and if they are okay gauges or if they are just flashy junk.
If so does anyone know of any other multi gauges that would work good?

the westach/micro-1000 is the popular choice because its the fastest reacting, most accurate pyrometer we have found yet..
the glow shift gauges are fairly cheap ebay gauges, if i remember right..
post up a link to the combo gauge anyways..
how huge is it? to have 3 separate read outs?

Yeah it seems to be a good choice. I will probably still go with that. But i'll need to find a boost gauge eventually too. (hopefully soon... if i can find a turbo set up

)
Yeah I didn't remember them being that great but i like the idea of a 3 in 1 gauge.
http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/3in1-black-face-boost-egt-and-temp.aspxThey have a couple different types. analog boost/digital temp or analog temp/digital boost ect.
I think it's a 2 3/8th inch gauge. So not too much bigger than most i see. But it seems worth it. I wonder if it is a K type sender. If so I guess i could at least use the micro-1000 sender right?
Edit: it is a k type sender. Does the primary accuracy of an egt gauge come from the sender or the gauge itself?

I have one it's nice but the tinted cover makes every thing hard to see at during the day. I find my self putting my hand around it to block out to light to be able to see. At night tho it's pretty bad a$$

i thought with diesels we want a boost gauge that shows vacuum as well as boost because if there is vacuum its a sign of problems?

I use 4 glowshift gauges. Oil temp, oil pressure, egt and vac/boost. So far I like them and they come complete with all senders and bezels.
I purchased the tinted series while they are bright in the day the extra dimmer wire option is really nice at night when you turn on your headlights.
The egt is indeed a type K thermocouple. As far as its responsiveness I can't tell you anything cause the car is yet to have a serious test drive/break in

All the gauges I had that were more about pretty light than gauging have been just that....
My Autometer Cobalt looks great, but only works for a few minutes after a cold start

Me, I'd rather have a full sweep EGT, and the boost Digi....

if you'd like I can make up a short vid tonight of my setup and what they look like, off, on and running.
The egt I bought is a full sweep 0-2400 F
Although I bought a vac/boost for some reason. Was probably tired and not paying attention but it reads up to 30 psi so im good

Yeah I'd like to see them.
Although ill probably play it safe since it really isn't about show.. I just thought it'd be nice to have it all in one.

I have have westech egt and vdo 15psi boost on the 'a' pillar of my mk2. The vdo buzzed till i stuffed some tissue into a fitting joint. The westech works great but i wish it was back lit, it is brighter than the rest of the lights in the car.
