Everything is so dirty/dusty it looks like any sort of maintenance hasn't been done in quite a while.

You guys would all really rather find a nice more expensive one? I much rather find one that needed nearly everything..  :o and cost more like $200-$400 lol.

Depending on the price of the car and your mechanical ability, I wouldn't worry about anything and just replace most of it. Your in the states, so you have access to many many many good cheap online car parts sites for these cars. I feel with your guys advantages you could easily redo the entire mechanical aspect of the car for under $400. All suspension, brakes, steering components, and maybe even clutch and engine seals.

But we don't like buying Pro.....e parts.

Quality parts might run more in the 650 range.

No I'm talking rock auto or auto gays.

Same parts places I've been using for my 6 years of dubbing.

I just bought an 86 diesel for $300. Started when it was 2 degrees out, drove it away, and was able to get it to 140km/h on the highway. I just needs some suspension work. What you get doesn't always reflect what you pay, or what it needs. I go to the dealership to get parts, and I still get a better deal than most interweb suppliers. Maybe you need to just take this car out for a spin one cold morning and see what she'll do. Or if you feel like chancing it, just see what you can get it for, and find out later how good it is. Either way, no one on the internet is going to tell you how good or terrible a car is. You either need to take a chance on it, or walk away.
