Best combination of Motor Mounts for a MKII
« on: November 10, 2011, 01:58:41 pm »
I need new motor mounts and am wondering what combo of oem mounts would be best for a MKII Diesel? All solid rubber? All hydraulic? G60 mounts? Hockey pucks?

I have had good success with nothing solid but just new rubber OEM versions.  G60 is a good Idea, hydraulic sucks.

Hm i'll give all rubber a shot. Right now I'm running pure jello. It's way to soft.

I like the prothane polyurethane inserts in my mkI but 've never driven a mkII diesel. I'd say at least go for the g60 "upgrade" though.

Sorry, what's the G60 upgrade?  How does it compare with the stock MK2?

Mine has a hydraulic front and seems OK (certainly less bone jarring than my Mk1)

mk2 motor mounts are way nicer than mk1 motor mounts. mk1 diesels are like the roughest VWs on planet earth, even with good mounts. ive got brand front, rear, and passenger side mount, all aligned right, and everything, still vibrates the crap out of my dash tho.

86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

If I recall correctly the G60 mount is a solid rubber tranny mount. I can't remember. I read something about it on vortex and have been meaning to look it up again.
