You will need pads designed for vented disks. Look for GTI pads, just make sure that particular GTI had vented brakes.
his pads might be worn enough to fit them already..
ive done a few swaps where i got to use the old pads even..

I'm pretty sure they say don't mix used pads with new rotors, vice versa is not recommended.
I think I'd lightly rub them on some sandpaper first just to give 'em that new texture.
Fox pads are totally different than MKII/MKI pads. He will need some pad that is designed for vented rotors or a pad that work with his application.

If that's the case I'd take new pads (if you can't get thin pads made for vented disks) and take a sanding belt to 'em. Or do it right and machine 'em down just until they fit over the disk.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your input !
After quite a bit of research, with many different model VW's and researching here and on on the vortex-I've come to the conclusion-the vented rotors don't swap right in,using NEW pads.
There are other options, using larger dia brake setups.
I've decided to stick with the solid rotors.
I purchased a pair of black zinc plate rotors, which are drilled and slotted, with ceramic pads, for $95 on ebay
Not what I wanted to install, but should help with brake fade non the less.
And this swaps right in-with no mods.
Thanks agian for all your help !
Mike
all you need is a mk1 brake caliper/carrier set up.. direct swap.. fox uses goofy calipers/carriers not ment to use vented..
hope they dont crack and warp!
