Ran through first full tank after turbo on. Went from 49mpg consistently when it was n/a down to 45 this tank. Have to admit, I have been much heavier on throttle because the car will move now... But wasn't thinking would lose 4mpg with most of my driving being on freeway. I guess I have also been running faster on freeway too though...
Weather has also gone from in the 80's and 90's down to the 40's and 50's ... So I'd guess that too may have something to do with it.
I did no changes to my pump or timing whatsoever from when it was n/a. Seems though like night and day difference in power I have now. Used to be all smoke beyond about 1/2 throttle. Now I have yet to be able to make it smoke.
Any thoughts? What would be a really good mpg for a turbo with an n/a pump?

you cant get good mileage when you first install the turbo.. the pedal is always closer to the floor with the turbo.. gotta feel the boost and hear the spool

anyways, kidding aside.. you CAN actually get BETTER mileage with a turbo motor..
50mpg is not out of the question if you stay out of the boost.. it takes fuel to make boost.
the first few tanks, the mileage will be kinda crappy, because of all the fun you are having with the car..
i just accept the fact that my car gets 40-45 mpg now.. i CAN NOT stay out of the boost.. on the freeway, my car gets AMAZING mileage..
not Hagars (R.I.P. you will always be remembered, as long as we live!) smileage like he got in bunny bondo, but good mileage none the less..
i feel blessed that we had hagar for as long as we did.. he was one AMAZING guy.
