
K24 or K14? Is it worth buying and running this at 20psi? That is, if it's a K24.

its a toss up. you might get lucky. my Audi has a K24, 25psi boost, and it still has a stock head gasket.
my rabbit is running a VNT, maxes out at right around 20 psi.. my head gasket is still intact..
its going to be laggy tho, not bad, but its not going to be like a K14 or a K03..

The turbo comes with a manifold and wastegate; do I need the K24 oil return line too?
And secondly, how would I remove the watercooling from the K14?
i don't think they are laggy, its not like instant boost or but as the engine spool so does the turbo, and i could hit 20-30psi well before the engine was close to red line. i'd rather have a laggy turbo down low anyway and have more power in higher gears, cheap traction control haha. k24 is a sweet turbo tho imo, good match for a 1.6 beyond our stock turbos it's hard to find something that will make the boost we need effeciently with out passing the surge line.
That is NOT a 1.6TD K24, the comp housing part# should be 5324 101 5014

Not much info there, guess we'll see when the new owner takes a closer look on it
It's official: it's a K24.
But I can't afford it, so no nice big turbo for me
