I just put an AAZ into a mk2 jetta, was a gas car. Label your wires as you pull the gas engine. The fuel pump on mine was ahead of the tank where the water separator should be, just eliminated it. you can shorten the plastic lines so the rubber hose hookup is easier/straighter, just remember you need to put the brass inserts back in so you can clamp it together. Hook the fuel pump to the line that fed the coil. Move the glow plug relay and the wire it runs from the donor car to the other one, circuit is plug and play. Use the downpipe that came with the diesel and have an exhaust shop hook you back up. You can have it running in a weekend easy. Don't cut off extra wires until you have it running and everything working..... there's (on an 8 valve) three different temp sensors, two are for the computer, only one needed for the guage. Oil sensors should be the same, as well as starter circuit and alternator. Only thing you might run into is power steering lines having a different hookup. My engine had already been in a mk2 car and used v belts instead of the serpentine belt, but I think if you use the serpentine setup you just need to use one line off the donor car. Either that or switch pumps...
