Volvo intercooler?

ok, so all you guys that told me the volvo intercooler was no good over 15 psi, you guys are extremely wrong. i had 30 psi going into that thing last night and it didnt explode. although i thought it did at first, but i just exploded another intercooler hose is all. put it back together and was back to boosting. im really surprised my 15 dollar intercooler holds up to my abuse. and here i am, again, with something that should break, but wont. i blew the head off my last 1.5 with high boost like this. the new engine seems to handle it just fine. bet the intercooler has alot to do with it.

so, anyone that was debating using a volvo intercooler in there rig, dont worry, you probably wont explode it. you might have to cut lots of stuff up to make it fit, but as long as you keep then away from anything over 30 psi.

Have you actually checked the pressure drop across the intercooler? If you're running 30psi at the manifold you're pushing much higher on the inlet of the intercooler.
Volvo's intercoolers are very restrictive for their size.
