Hi,
the problem I had with the head goes like this, the injector is screwed into the head crooked and is not fully seated too one thread is exposed, confirming its siezed with carbon, now Ive tried PB blaster, WD-40, cutting oil, heated kerosene and candle but it wont budge an mm - The machine shop is saying that if we try to remove it - the boss may break off or crack or at safest come out and have no threads in the head.
Im gonna redo the injector in situ - have done it before.
problem is that there is no VW golf diesel head in the country, and I cant afford to import one right now, Having searched the internet to safely weld aluminium without distorting it - I came across a product easyweld - apparently it can reclaim threads in aluminium safely without distortion and crazy heat damage..
need someone to comment who has welded aluminium like that of the injector boss
I can't comment from personal experience but I know I've read at least 2 or 3 posts from people on this board cracking a boss and getting it welded back up. It can be done, you need a good machine shop though who knows how to work with aluminum.
sounds like the heat shield was re-used.

i'd definitely try that product before getting it welded. you're looking at big $$$ for that, but could also give the head a good refresh while you're at it. you're so close to China too! why not check them out for some barebones heads???
I can get chinese heads, pistons and other stuff - but am kind of broke right now, I just serviced the injector while on the head - and putting it back - going to run it for a few thousand and then get another head - or a specialist machinist who will reweld the aluminium
