ive looked a bit and i cant find any real numbers. what is my oil pressure supposed to be at idel? and around 3000rpm?

VW only publishes one "supposed to be":

2.0 bar (29 psi)

-at the oil filter flange
-at 2000 RPM
-at normal operating temperature (rad fan has cycled once)

As long as it's not zero you should be fine. Although I have been driving with mine at zero with no issues. Don't ask.  :oops:

thanks againg guys. i just thought it might have been a little higher around 40psi.

it sits at 20psi at 1000rpm normal operating temp
