Hi folks,
I have used the search function, didn't find anything, so I might not be wording this correctly.
I have a 93 Golf 1.9TD, used to have the ATH trans, needs a diesel geared transmission put in there.
I have found a 97 AMC trans from a 1.9TD but it's the usual buried in the shed out of town kind so difficult to measure. (fixed late night typo)
Is the 97 a cable actuated clutch or hydraulic? and will the mount points match? It seems like the 97 AMC is a large input shaft transmission? so I'd have to get a new flywheel as well?
I've read the cable to hydraulic swap is (or can be) costly.
ratios look close enough (I think)
ATH 3.45 1.94 1.28 0.91 0.75 3.67
AMC 3.45 1.94 1.28 0.97 0.80 3.67
Opinions, answers, weblinks or horrifying stories appreciated, thanks for any help in advance.
