I saw this onlne while doing some research and thought it might help people with a visual on the dual plenum intake idea. Please feel free to add any good info you might have on this. Slap this on a modded 1.6 n/a intake perhaps?

Some here, some there.... Here is what I have boosted.
"The concept behind a dual plenum manifold design is to equalize intake runner velocity, regardless of each runner’s distance from the throttle body, thereby ensuring equal air/fuel ratios in each cylinder. Complex engine dynamics such as intake pulse reflection and rpm resonance are also much less prone to interference from incoming intake charge simply due to the fact that the upper plenum is ‘separated’ from the throttle body.
The lower plenum serves as an air distributor which tapers to increase intake velocity towards the aft side of the plenum. It feeds air into an even gap that runs the full length of the plenum causing the air to "distribute" evenly into the upper capacitance plenum. The cross-sectional area of this gap is roughly 110% of the cross-sectional area of the throttle body opening which allows for an equal distribution of intake air with a safety buffer to insure absolutely no intake restriction."
"A brief synopsis of the intake manifolds used on the Audi Rally Cars and into the VAG turbo competition cars of current day. "

I meant about the one in the photo. Anyone can weld a couple of tubes together, but with what math/ proof behind what they are doing.

I looked for a while via google about the mathmatic formulas for setting up the dual plenum. I have not found it yet. I have no dobt it is out there but at this point it has eluded me. However, once I get interested in something I tend to fixate on it until I develope a good knowledge base on it. Might not be fast but I eventually will get there.

That AKI dude that posts in TurboJ 's thread in the IDI section knows how to make them. I am sure he would have the formula(s).

Wow... i just looked at every picture in that gallery... so i went out side and hugged my head and turbo in the driveway at 1am. And softly whispered "It's ok baby... you're with me. I'll keep you safe."

I too looked at all those pictures and WOW..
Dual plenum looks pretty cool, i get what there trying to do behind it. NOICE

Yeah right thats top secret info just like the cam grinds. Even though he doesn't sell any of it anymore. Funny though, TT shows all the specs to their cams.

I found this thread while doing some searches of the past. ot specific to the dual plenum, but definetly related:

why would you need a dual plenum on an na? you already have a setup similar to itbs
