As for that extra coolant fitting, i would just "T" it into to return to the small hose that goes to your overflow bottle. Nice feature to constantly bleed the air out the system, however i'm wondering why they decided to install it in the first place. Unless the are using the same casting for diesel and gassers.

thats what im saying. the coolant pipe is there on the old head, but not on the new, so if i dont "need " it,then im not fussed.

I will be running GU12 vw coolant, as i never run anything different, as its designed to do the job, with alloy heads etc, and i've always run good quality coolant.

Will i need to swap the cams over from my TD into the 1Y head? or are they the same? Is there anything else internally that i'll have to change, or will the cam suffice (along with any external fittings, i.e water spouts etc?)

Extra outlet goes up to the header tank from memory.
AMC are spanish, I use them at work with no problems.
Valves aren't the best looking quality items, but no probs so far.
castings are generally good, but can be a little rough in places and could just do with a little fettle every now and again, but really nothing to cause alarm.

Now then, has any1 made a how to, on re fitting and plumbing up a head, doing the timing etc??? As i didnt take it off, so i dont really know how it goes back, or at least how to time it up.
