Diggerence in injection pumps, NA. ?
« on: February 14, 2009, 08:35:07 pm »
I was looking at the pump from an 86 jetta today, and the one from my 82 or so Pickup, and they are somewhat different.  Like the cold start timing adjustment on the bakc side of the 86 has a rod that comes up to another lever kinda dealy and the early one does not..  So what is the difference in them functionally, anything?
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become ignorant.

That rod is for fast idle. It increases the idle by about 200 rpm when the cold start lever is pulled out.

The 86 may also have light load which helps fuel economy and emmisions
