Hi,
I have found a few people over the phone who are breaking 1.9TD's
Just wondering if all 1.9tds were fitted with either the K24 or the T3?
One gave me the numbers for Garret
turbo code 466534 - 3
vw part number 068145703M
is this a T3?
What would be the numbers on the KKK if it was a K24? i dont want a K14
Cheers, and sorry for the confusing post!

AAZs came with K14s, T2s and K03s. You need to find a 1.6 if you want a K24 or a T3. Why do you want such a large laggy turbo?

The smaller turbo's will be no good for over 160hp, a T3 was what i was told was best

Yes, they won't do that well in a high horsepower application.

I might just use the VNT17 i have lying around and sort a mechanical linkage. 120WHP is no fun when i could have 150WHP!! lol
Any links to the mechanical linkages?
Cheers for the replies!

if you want a turbo that makes a ton of boost and has NO LAG TIME.. go with that VNT 17 you have. i had one on a stock 1.5D and it made over 30 psi.. and that was with tiny injectors and a n/a pump.. they can get over 200 horse out of these turbos on the ALH engine, so why wouldnt 150 be realistic on a 1.6? and as for the variable nozzles.. i just run them wide open all the time. and run a straight pipe.. you will love it

my t3 will make about 4-5 psi on the highway at 120km.hr and 1-2psi at 100km/hr. Now that could be just the way my pump is set up but that seems to be how it goes. Under WOT I have no issues with the t3... the lag isn't very serious in my opinion so long as you aren't afraid to drive at higher RPM.
The AAZ head coupled with a 1.6 bottom end and a t3 make for a good combo. The head is so much free-er flowing and a big downpipe make for very very small spool times. Nothing like a VNT of k12 (or smaller) obviously. But it will make the jump from 10psi to 20psi in like 2 seconds at WOT with mediocre fueling with THAT set up that i described.

yea, thats how my rabbit is, you step on the smoke pedal, then about a half second later (about as long as it takes you to blink) the turbo is spooled from 2psi to almost 20 psi. i can be going down the road in 4th gear, roll on the throttle and then be going as fast as my governor will allow pretty damn quick. my rabbit is soo much quicker off the line than any honda i have found yet. the honda is still pulling first gear, but im out in front about ready to shift into 3rd. i just wish i could make this thing quick AND fast. i know there is no such thing as speed with a 4 speed diesel trans.
