Nozzles for the 2.5 V6 TDI?
« on: December 30, 2008, 05:16:27 pm »
Hey everyone,

Well its been a while, but I'm back  :D  The Corrado TDI died in a horrible oily mess, so I bought an A6 2.5 TDI Quattro instead. Six months later thats in little bits as the t-belt idler exploded with the inevitable consequences

 :(

So... while I'm rebuilding it I figured it would be rude not to throw some bigger nozzles and a VNT25 on it    But, short of getting some Edge Jammer nozzles for a 6.7L Cummins I cannot find a source of nozzles for the V6 anywhere!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, while I'm posting, does anyone have any experience of tuning these engines? Any useful tips and tricks would be most welcome  8)  I'm considering a pair of GT18Vs if I can't find a cheap VNT25. That should be interesting...

Mikki x

on a V6, i would rather twins than one large turbo.  the problem is routing the exhaust manifold ports in such a way that one bank of cylinders isn't too biased.  the way the V6's are routed right now aren't the greatest... two smaller turbo's would be ideal!  but make sure to keep an eye on oil pressure as it will drop when running two.

My last "proper" car was a passat V6 TDi (AFB engine) which I had some good fun with.
The standard turbo is good for over 200 bhp with a good map, and a hybrid turbo will see closer to 300.
In terms of injectors the only person I know to have upgraded was Dave Wishart of Torqutronix over in Ireland. (Incidentally he mapped my car and knows his onions). You would need to contact him about the injectors, the turbo could be taken care of by Turbo Dynamics (where I used to work).

Did you make 300 with stock manifolds? A friend has a good hybrid now, and bigger nozlles, but it won't go over 250hp without smoke..

But where do you get the nozzles!!!!!!!! Someone must know

The intake manifolds don't seem to bad, but the port design on the head is horrible!

Just found out that the hydraulic lifters on mine are also trashed, and it's been running on about 17 of 24 valves. Two of the exhaust valves are siezed in the guides

I should just throw this motor away and put a 4.2 V8 in it

Really? No one on TDIclub said that... I'll PM him thanks

PS 3.0TDI is very very expensive. 4.2V8 is cheap  :P

Lol! Its sulking under a tree at the moment

When the A6 is mended the 1Z is coming out of the Corrado and going in the bin, and in its place is going an Audi 3.6L V8  8)

That is one idea, another idea (some may argue the better idea) would be to sell it to me!

Honestly you really don't want it.

The list of things that are wrong with is so long I can't even be bothered typing it all. The only thing that makes it interesting - the TDI engine - is shot anyway, so its just another dead Corrado I'm afraid. Its worth more in sentimental value than anyone would pay for it, since most people would consider it scrap metal  :(
On the plus side there are some small oak trees growing in the rain tray now so it makes a good plant pot.

You would be much better off just building one youself if you really want one. Its pretty easy
