so dieselwagen the intake mani you have what motor is that off of and what year car? i went to a auto wrecker the other day to take a look and i see tons of 8v 86-92 golfs and jettas your intake looks a bit diff tho. thanks dan

dan, when i pulled that intake off a car i have no way of identifying the wreck, bonnet and hood support is gone and driver door is caved-in. all of the rear badges are gone.
the only part # it has on the casting is {037133223A} maybe a local dealership can help decipher those numbers and help identify the intake.

in that case you want a 1Y intake, its better than the gassers, only "downside" is it only fits the 1.9 diesel head.

his is either a g60 intake or a fox intake or a mk1 intake,  mk2 intakes are have the throttle on the passenger side...  using the gas intake with a long tube going to the front of the car would be a good way to get rid of some of the diesel clatter with out losing any power. although power wise i think the na intake is pretty adequate except for the the snorkel, part.

I think i will be just going to use a 1.6 na intake which i have now welded up to match to the d ports. I would think that it has somewhat of a plenum effect and i will then just enlarge the intake pipe size which will then be piped to a cold air intake snorkle
