I have the engine, I have the car. Even have a 1983 4000 td donor car.
Any info would be appreciated. I am starting this project and want to prepare as much in advance as possible before putting the 4000 Quattro under the knife.
Here is a pic of the car it's going to:
Thank you in advance!
i know someone who's done the convertion, but from an audi 100 avant (i believe) to a '94 A6 avant. full quattro diesel
not much room between the motor & rad though
even went from auto to manual, which wasn't too difficult. apparently the auto's have the holes for the clutch pedal. and the rear diff was the same ratio too so that helped immensely. that and the rear diff is locking
it should just be drop in and go. you'd want the diesel trans though, as they are geared much better. might need to swap some of the quattro bits onto the diesel transmission though.
Where is the 2,0td from? Does it have vacuum pump? C3 Audis have hydraulic brake booster, so you have to figure something for it. My friend used a Toyota alternator with vacuum pump, but it did not fit with stock exhaust manifold.
Otherwise itīs pretty much "bolt on". Take the wiring, fuel filter etc. from td donor car, use gasser motor mounts etc needed little things. You might need to take fuel lines (and tank?) from td, or modify the gasser ones.
