Hey guys, just had a quick question, an easy one for some of you more knowlegable vw heads out there.
First a little background, I am running an AZZ in a mk2, FMIC, boost pin, T-3, 2.5 inch exhaust, you know the usual. My problem is after about 8000km my stock clutch has let out, it now slips at anything past 15psi in just about all gears. Now i will admit i drive fairly aggresively and love the boost, so I'm not really all that surprised that the stock sachs wasn't up to the job, however now that i have started shoping around for upgrades I am a little woried.
So just to be sure would someone please affirm me in my thoughts that any performance clutch kit for a 8v gasser should work with my diesel?
As a token of good will i offer you a dated picture of my motor set up.

Thanks in advance

no, gasser requirements are different, not any one gasser will do.
top upgrade seems to be g60 flywheel and vr6 clutch, don't know the details.
I realize that a stock gas clutch will not hold. I am looking at a 6 puck ceramic clutch with a sprung hub, It is designed to fit an 8v, but is rated to handle 60% more power then a stock 16v, which I think is about where I am.

If it is a 16v trans you can go 210mm flywheel,16v pressure plate, and 16v 210 clutch. If you have a small spline 8v trans you can upgrade from a 200mm setup to a 210mm. 210mm flywheel (lightened),16v pressure plate, and a sach's 8v 210mm clutch. Should provide lots of clamping power.
If you upgrade to a 02a tranny you can bump up to 228mm size. Go with the lightened g60 flywheel, vr6 pressure plate and clutch setup. MTMautohouse had a good deal on them a while ago. Thats what I bought for my car.
Call these guys and you can run a 210mm clutch with your small spline trans.
http://www.clutchnet.com/home.phpThey make a 210mm small spline disk, you need to call though to make sure they know what your doing.
I'm running a 16v Sachs super clutch pressure plate, one of their disks and a lightened 210mm flywheel.
I'll be switching to the Clutchnet 6 puc your probably talking about as well as soon as this one goes. For now I have one of the 8 puc disks and I can slip in in any gear once it passes 20psi.
stock td clutches don't like extra boost haha
I was looking at this set up from Black Forest Industries, it should work from what I understand.
http://store.blackforestindustries.com/16abaheduclk.htmlI think it should provide all the holding power I will need. I am running about 19psi right now, and I don't figure I will go much higher a couple more psi at most, definatly won't exceed 25psi.
