Anyone out there using the DSE mix? How are you making out? I have an '81 VW Rabbit 1.6. The first 5 gallons I ran through seemed to be fine with the exception of me needing to use the cold start to start it...even at outside temps of 60's and 70's. The other thing that I "think" I notice is a loss in power...not much though. So I put another 8 gallons into her and then it progressed to the motor shutting off several times on start up. Once it would stay running it would surge, then almost stall out, then surge, then almost stall out, etc. Once it warmed up the surging still continued but the time in between surges just got longer...not longer than about 20-30 seconds though. Last night I changed the air filter and the fuel filter with no improvement. So I drained as much DSE out of the tank as I could and added petro diesel and it smoothed right out. Anyone know what my problem might be?
Thanks!
Brian
PS - I am new on this forum so pardon my ignorance to the "lingo" and/or other options I had no idea what to select when I set up my profile.
Diesel secret is a scam. Stop using it right away before you damage your engine and/or injection pump.
If you want to use WVO or SVO you must install a proper two tank system. There is no way to cheap out by using a "single tank conversion" or no conversion at all (blending) without causing long-term damage to the engine and injection system.
Thanks guys! What about mixing kerosene with WVO? I mean we know that kerosene burns in diesels and we know that folks are running straight WVO. Why wouldn't a mix of these 2 work?
Blending is just as bad as DSE. If you want to use WVO you must use a 2-tank system or buy a processor to convert the oil into actual BioDiesel.
...is just as bad as DSE, along with EVERY other single tank "conversion" in existence.
Here is the secret ingredient of DSE, WEED KILLER (dimethylbenzene).
Google "dse msds".
