Is it possible to modify a 1.6 hydro head metal HG to fit a solid lifter head? What are the differences?

Well I kinda did that.
I used a hydro head on a solid lifter block with the metal head gasket.

Click on the link in my sig and you can see what I did to make it work.

Almost 8000 miles so far and no leaks.

When I search for "metal head gasket" I get 4 pages of previous discussions, including this one with a picture of the hole in question:

Who are you addressing?

If me, the hole in the head is a extra oil return hole, the hole in the block was a coolant passage.

Thanks for the responses guys  8)

I searched a bit, but was coming back with way to many results to sift through with what I entered.

I don't plan on doing a lot to this motor power wise, add an intercooler and add adjust the pump a bit, but that's it.

I think I'll be fine with a fiber HG, I left a message for myke_w and should have the parts on the way soon.
