then again... i'll start off with fitting the 1.6 td one ... it does have about 1.5 mil of difference in diamiter but maybe if i sleeve the top and bottom bit... it won't have as much play!

Thanks Bert, I also just noticed... you're from UK
so cheap post and no customs bullshyte lol jokes aside, I got my engine from Universal Salvage there about 2 months ago. Actually got the whole car with rear accident damage which we cut in half... my mate kept the body, I took the engine... So hopefully its running the same pump as yours is, being a UK model, so straight swap.
I envy you guys... we don't have actual scrapyards here so i can;t really go scrapyarding myself.
Just let me know the total... when we discuss a way to send you the money that's convenient to you.

This week I changed the pin from a 1.6TD into my 1.9TD pump and thet were the same dia. I actually swapped them they both were a perfect fit. The 1.9 had a very long spring in there and the 1.6 had a short stiffer one(green). the 1.6 pump is from a '90 Jetta and the 1.9 is from a '95 Golf. I also have a 1.9 pump from a '97 golf which has the different pulley(3 bolt no keyway like TDI) I can use that camplate to put a TDI plunger with no mods.
