Well, you could troll through the vendor's feedback for any messages like "didn't fit" "wrong part" or "they were made out of tin foil!"  :o
If he had another set up for sale recently (click on some of the past items in the feedback area) and hopefully another VW set were sold, Send a message to that buyer and see.

Yes, they will fit. Your piston skirt will have a cutout for the oil squirter nozzle that your engine doesn't have. But there's no other difference between the D / TD pistons.

I assume when you say "fit", that you're boring your engine out for new
pistons?

I would have liked to see the side of the piston, some of the ones I've seen out there recently don't have the steel ring carrier on the top ring like the OE and good aftermarket type do.

The pistons are supplied by Rightway Industrial Taiwan, they come in both good and bad qualities, Ive built many gasser honda/toyota engines with good quality (alphin carrier) pistons, and they are still going on strong for 200,000 kms.

I would suggest using genuine KS rings tho or atleast use NPR rings (all others seem to be made of crap)
