Stock smoke setting?
« on: November 27, 2007, 11:56:11 am »
Does anyone know how much these cars smoked WOT (er, injector) from the factory? Going off of this BSFC map, the only one I've found, it seems that after a certain point, especially at part load, increases in fueling lead to marginal increases in power because efficiency drops at nearly the same rate. For example, going from ~6.5bar to ~8bar at 2500rpm increases torque to ~123%, but it decreases efficiency to ~83%, so we need to burn ~40% more fuel just to get ~20% more power at that engine speed.

Not only that, but even after cutting fuel peak power is still about the same mas or menos. So, short of a dyno, does anyone know how to figure where fuel injected versus smoke is according to the BSFC map?
