EGT probe/gauge help please.

This discussion brought back something I did about 10 years ago. I installed a Westach dual EGT gauge on my 503 Rotax engine in my Quicksilver ultralight. The provided wiring harness extensions were too short to go from the engine behind me to my instrument pod by my knees. I called Westach and asked what I could do and got the same answer as I got from Isspro, just add 18ga copper to the extension harness and they will work fine. They seem to.  After that I talked to several businesses that do that type of installations and they all agreed that was the way to do it.

When I have the choice of searching the internet for a answer to a problem I am having or talking to the company that makes the product in my 40+ years as a heavy equipment and truck mechanic I have had better results going to the source. That is what works for me (-:
