Thanks! I will be in contact with you
We did some more work yesterday, the pump is screwed/gummed up from sitting so long
I fed a bottle of powerservice through it (well into it) since the return seems to be blocked/suction pretty poor in general so the pump will likely have to come out to get rebuilt. It idles like a trooper though, no knocking to speak of and pretty dang smooth! Smoother than the tdi I'd say.
Anyway the battle continues
I think this car has more in common with teh 318 since I have drums in the rear actually! That will be a project for after she is on the road since I need to swap the rear control arms with the ones from a real 325.
Also, not sure if she had an engine swap from crazy freaking german or not (based on the vin), since she has the turbo, oil cooler and the proper pump on it, along with a fancy after market intercooler setup that is probably 2ftx2ft with really nicely done piping. I'm sure there will be more surprises. But hey, the in car air temp computer, crank moonroof, and power mirrors all work W00t! My friend even found the euro hitch in the trunk
It connects like an air coupling with ball bearings that lock into place.
Engine will be coming out for a rear main seal and other such maintenance/painting of the car along with most of the interior so hopefully there is nothing some money (ok lots of money) can't fix. If anyone has one of the pure mechanical pumps that are used on this TD sitting on a shelf somewhere let me know lol.
