This little story is about my 1986 Golf 1.6N/A 5sp i got back in November.Well the frist bad thing to happen was when i was working on it and looking under and a moron that lives about three doors down form us hits me on my back side with front tire of his truck and the fender cuts me.So because of that i had to go to the ER and now have about $3,000 or so in med bills form it and was unable to do much of anything for 2 months.Ok so now is Feb and i can get back to work on it and turns out it needs a voltage reg so i get it put it on and all seems well.So now it's geting colder out and won't start and i find out that all four glow plugs are bad so i get them and replace them all and all seems fine.Then i go to start it and well it kills the battery well come to find out the stater is shot,well i get it and replace it all seems well yet angin.Now the alternator won't charge so i get some belts to replace to old worn out ones well i take the alt out the way to losen up the tensonor for the a/c and the a/c looks like it does not fit the car WTH?Also i see that some moron left the lower timing cover off and it is no where to be found and the damn intmedited shaft pully has chips out of it on the back side.And all this time the car has not moved more the two blocks form my house and sat most the time because it needed brake work and that was a mess too because one moron used a SAE duble flare brake line going to the drivers rear rubber line.So now i need more parts yet angin and i was hoping to have this car on the road to replace my truck because it is on it's way out plus it suck gas.So all in all i have had fun with this car. :x :cry: But iam not giving up

Well he was uninsured so i have to take hit to small calims court to get anything out of him.

What a pain, did the guy say anything? Is he simply refusing to cover your medical bills? Any witnesses? How did you get to ER?

Well that was kind of the short the story.In my town or state not really sure there is some law that says you can not work on a car in the street well i was and i got a ticket for it so he got off.Well i went to court and pleed not guilty and so i had another court date to go to and when i got there the state prossacuter asked me why i was there and i told him i did not know and they wrote it off and my recore is clean but i had to pay the $78 court cost.So for me to get any money form this moron i have to take him to court.I can try this but the guy is a low life.As for how i got to the ER try a $500 bill for a amblies.Sorry for the bad spelling guys.And the funny thing is the ER is only 2 miles form my house it was $300 just for them to show up.

stopand make sure of this first,,,,is the engine intime,and has some compresssion??i dont wanna see you spend$$and then find out she has bent valves or somethin,,,they probably mayhave lost a bracket for the ac or somethin,,if it didnt work,,its kind of a pain inthe ass cause it runs the alt w/a small belt rite????iwish the rednecks would stay away from vw's,,theyalways f them up,,,,,wonder if the 'necks either'ed it and nuked the glow plugs,,or the relay is stuck on or somethin,,,all 4 toburn out at once???

She runs fine but problly needs timed i have got it up to over 35mph just have not drove it much and will not till i get the lower cover on it.

ok man,i was a little worried about that,but it runs/drives,thats good,,,,

,dont worry we'll getcha fixed up!!ill say ohio doesnt have many vws,,im used to ,in ny state,goininto boneyards,and litteraly having a "vw" section,right in there w/the foreigncars,,,,,i miss that :cry:

I know what you mean.When you need parts your SOL alot fo the time.I also have a 88 Scirocco 16V and it is like one of three in town and one is beat to hell and the other is ok.
