Thats Prothe's site..you could ask him here...IN PM..not in public.

Hi, I've bought a rebuilt pump from emiata ..

Better check closely, you may have purchased a RESEALED pump, and not a REBULT pump.

re-sealed = the same pump that you gave.  same performance/economy except that the leaks *should* be fixed, and will probably not leak for a very long time (hopefully!)

re-built pump means any parts that are not within spec anymore (camplate, feed pump, head/plunger) are changed, and the internal pressure is calibrated etc.  this means that if your pump was badly worn, your power/economy will be restored.  (and will seem like a miracle if you've never driven a properly tuned diesel  ) although with improper timing/installation it 'might' seem just as bad...

I believe that emiata is Prothe, and that he does state that he replaces worn parts inside the pump.  bushings etc.  now the parts are definitely not Bosch (not very expensive) but a good alternative for those of us just wanting to squeeze some extra life out of our cars.  why spend $1000 on a fuel pump for a car that has low 200 psi on each cyl?  unless you have the extra money to 'freshen' up the motor, the rebuilt pump isn't really going to make it start any better in the winter... but that is my personal opinion.

putting that aside there have been some cautionary posts with regard to his pumps, being that a few people have had negative dealings.  ie: getting pumps back that don't work right, or worst, leak!  i have not heard if anyone was able to get either a refund, or another pump.  i would imagine that he would take care of his customers, or risk his company failing, but i cannot comment on that.

yes zukgod1 got contact! :) It's fine.. Well my problem is jtanguay, that I didn't have the knowledge when bying my car, it's my first diesel.. didn't even know it was a TDI engine.. but it is.. fitted with standard 1.9td pump.. so its performing 0-100km/h in about 25+ seconds and top speed at 130kmh.. it's not revving at all when driving in 4-5 gear.. not getting nearly enough fuel, and I'm not experienced enough to assemble one myself

The pump has arrived in Denmark! Now I just need to get it home, and see if it does the job :)

I'll give further updates when I've mounted\testet it!
