1.6 L fuel injection pump leaking

My Rabbit's fuel injector pump has a peculiar fuel leak.  On the bottom right side of the pump, there is a machined surface with a couple threaded holes.  These holes are dripping fuel as if something was supposed to plug them or something was supposed to be attached.  Perhaps something vibrated off??? I'm very new to VW (2 days to be exact) and not real sure about the design.
