Mk3 Golf AAZ to ALH conversion (help please)

Hello
I have recently sent my mk3 golf AAZ into the spray shop for some much needed fondling, touching up and some all over attention. I am getting her back soon and excited to see what she looks like (photos will be uploaded in the not to distant future)(hopefully).
I cant help but thinking with all her fancy new paint and polish that her heart needs to be upgraded too. As I am looking for a tad extra power.
I have been offered a 2001 VW Bora with an ALH engine with a low mileage and for a very decent price. my problem is I cant seem to find much info regarding the ALH into a mk3 golf .
So far I think I have gathered that I will need to:
Change my throttle to the fly by wire system?
Potentially have trouble with where the turbo sits in relation to an engine bracket?
Sort out the bora loom in relation with the golfs clocks, interior loom, etc etc
There must be plenty more issues with this conversion, but I cant seem to find anything. So any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

mounting the engine into the car will be difficult as well. I would not drag the electronics into it, I would make it an Mtdi, but that is me.

As in the engine mounts are different or things are positioned in bad places? And ive been thinking about the mtdi route, but I don't know whether the hassle of finding pumps, machining pulleys and getting it setup running right, outweighs the hassle of installing the ecu.

The alh has a mount on the timing belt side of the engine. MK3 has it behind the engine like mk2.

Say it was an equal pain, I would rather not have the 90.00 maf sensor and n 75 and etc to always be going bad. Upside is you have a vnt control in the ecu...your decision. It is not a 1 way is the only way, more personal preference.

The ALH doesn't need any machine work to fit a Rover pump for what it's worth. It already has the correct size mounting bracket. The pulley from the ALH is the one you want too and it likewise fits fine without changes when you're using it on the engine it originally came with. The machine work is needed on an AHU (which is a direct bolt in for your body).

A mkiii pass mount bolts right to the alh block, depending on what turbo you use you may have an issue with boost piping hitting that pass rear mount.

i was going to say i was pretty sure the mk3 rear mount worked on the internal water pum blocks

Yes, but it interferes with the stock ALH turbo.

Hello everyone, thank you for your replies, ive been on holiday recently so haven't had a chance to look at this, so basically, the alh does fit in the mk3 if you use the passenger side mount of the mk3? The boost piping of the turbo doesnt matter too much, as i think im going to make some custom pipes anyways. What else would i need from the bora, fuel pump, gearbox, shifter and cables ? or rods ? cheers

No, not if you use the VNT. I make a bracket that bolts to the block that allows you to do it, but the cast aluminum mk3 mount will interfere. I sell it for 100.00 shipped in the 48. It comes with the bolts to bolt it onto the block. I have sold several with no issues and have ran the bracket in my mk2 for around 10,000 miles, no issues.
