Ah for sure, for sure. I totally agree, however this is their basic cheapest bottle of oil offered. 10w30 diesel conv.

It meets all the needed API; CD, CF-4, CG-4, CH-4, CI-4 and CI-4plus.

Haven't enquired at CTC  (Canadian Tire Corportaion -for all you Yanks  :))customer service for a while, but the last time I did, the store branded diesel oil was made by Shell.

Right. When I originally recommended the Canadian Tire Motomaster 10w30 conventional oil.. I was under the implication that the op knew he needed a diesel oil for hisbdiesel engine.

The 10w30 conventional I speak of is diesel rated..

Gasser oil is SJ/SH and would not be recommended because it doesn't hold the diesel "soot" in suspension and flush it out.
guys all im trying to say, at that point, I prefer 5w30 for break-in period not more than 100 miles+the 20-40 min before, as far as selection (rating) i personally can find diesel grade easy now, but I like 5-30 for that short window, even to using for mins+30-40miles.but 100 miles; wont hurt much..first did it in a hi-breed 2.26h-ogas(2overheadcams2sohc)

personally im of the opinion, at this point(of running cycle), 25 miles at various speeds , 45mph max, 25 is minimum. will comment further., I got 1 separate, advanced explanation (separate posting)coming

its just after cam break-in/run-in, your too close to run 25+miles on 1 change. so run 35-40 miles on this oil change, and 100-250 oil change can be adjusted.10w-30 for 100-150 miles, for 250 break-in , can be inceased.(10w-30prefered).(keep revs up![minrevs])

I said 100 miles to start, (will edit), cause of break-in period, and a good 5w-30 you can run at rpm, but 25 is min mileage, and 35-40 should get the job done,
@25-30 miles move top speed up to 50mph, for a few miles.
