dimensions of the governor
« on: April 09, 2011, 04:41:53 am »
Does anyone have a governor out of a pump that they could measure for me? I need to get hold of some shimming steel/washers before I take it out and shim it, but I need to know the diameter of the pin through the middle and the external diameter of the main spring. Thankyou in advance  ;D

i use stainless nuts. not shims. its easy that way, just take a small nut that slips over the shaft, and use that. usually you want like 3-4mm of shims, IIRC

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

What size nuts do you use? Thread size and outer dimension would be helpful, then the OP could get what he or she needs before disassembling his or her pump.

I would be interested as well.  Either would be a hassle; taking my pump apart twice, or trying to get stainless hardware w/o my car being drivable.

sorry, i dont have an easy way to measure. dont wanna open up my pumps again..

if the nut is too big tho, it wont fit. lol.

nobody told me exactly what nut to use, i had to figure it out, so it shouldnt be too hard for someone else to figure it out either.

The surrounding "frame" around the springs, what's the ID where the main spring sits? (which gives a max OD limit for the shims/nut)
