"Turbo Slowpoke"
« on: March 10, 2010, 04:17:07 pm »
I met this guy yesterday and he was telling me he made his own snowblower for the logging skidder he made also, and said it was some small diesel motor...So I went to his place to see this because he has a turbo i want (k24) And there is this Massive Diesel skidder with his homemade snow blower...

He opened the case to show me what powered the snowblower, a 1.6TD with a K24 on it still on the 5 speed transmission, he welded the spider gears together so its a full lock, he blows the snow running it around 3000RPM in 5th...

then the tractor he made, its 4x4 with a trailor(not shown) with a drive shaft to give it power to make it 6x6.
Anther 1.6TD K24 lol. he wants a K03 for it nad he'll give me a K24 off one of his extra motors(4 1.6TDs complete)

This guy sounds like a very clever fellow........ :o
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

I was thinking of making a 1.6 powered go-kart.. atv ish sort of deal..

engine in the back right over the drive axle, and only as wide as the engine and trans are.. would be fun i think.. POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO LIKE A MOTHER.  :D

Better would be a mini Monster Truck.

Get 2 Jeep Cherokee front axles (Dana 30s).  Flip one over so it can be used in the rear with the pumpkins on the same side.  Put a VW Diesel with an AUTO TRANNY in long ways. Run a drive shaft from each axle flange to each Dana 30 Pumpkin. Run normal steering linkage for the front end and either weld the rear straight or install a electric over hydraulic steer cylinder on it with a momentary 3 way switch.

Single seat Mini Monster truck.

Ive seen them done with a Honda 1.6/Auto..but a VW diesel would be so much better.

The OP...cool. There was a sprayer around here on Craigslist forever powered by a VW diesel.

I've thought of doing that, only I wouldn't use an auto trnny......You'd also want a diff lock in the tranny and the axles. Man that would be a crawler!!!!

that is WICKED. It would be better to see the full 9 yards ... snow cooled intercoolers, big custon tig'd intakes, huge down pipes & straight exhaust.
