Cluster not working after doing swap...
« on: July 11, 2008, 04:49:25 am »
Hey guys,

I just completed a swap of my TD motor in another car and I did have the cluster working for a good 5 seconds - then it completely shutted off.  The engine, however, still runs and am able to drive the car.  Any ideas to where I should start looking?  You guys thinking that maybe ground might be something for me to look at?  It's a mk3 IDI engine in case you guys are wondering.  I transferred the Jetta's wiring harness to the new one and everything was working properly on the Jetta before I started swapping it over.

To make sure if it's maybe the cluster that's giving me problems, my mechanic had installed my Jetta's cluster and already, that one didn't even light up.  So I'm assuming it would be the wiring harness, but where would I even start about that if it were that?

Any suggestions or tips would be awesome :D
