I had a fuel leak
« on: July 29, 2007, 02:46:11 pm »
Over the past few days I've been noticing a smell of fuel from somewhere near the front of the car. It turns out it was the little rubber hose that runs from the number 2 and number 3 injector that had rubbed against one of the steel lines on the IP and had wore a very tiny hole in the hose and it was spraying a bit of fuel onto the valve cover. I had 4 feet of that hose in my trunk, so I cut a suitable length of hose and replaced the one that was leaking. I probably should do the other ones too.

I carry chemical resistant windscreen washer fluid hose with me for the very same purpose (and mine did that to me recently too).  I left a trail a few km long though, it was the return line off all the injectors that came off of mine.
Waiting for a bigger better diesel to come along.
