Coolant around manifolds, even on top of intake

Anybody have any idea why there would be coolant pooling above the intake manifold? Cracked head?


2006 Jetta TDI - gtb1749v, Malone 2, Frank's Titan 2 cam, VR6 clutch....

Well, the damage must have been done before we bought the car. It is looking more and more like I will need to buy a re-manufactured head.

i remember you talking about coolant pissing out of the cap... i remember when it happened to me i had coolant in odd places.. but it was more of a boil over...  there was fire men nearby and they filled me up with water, and then i was on my way... car worked fine for a full year, then there was some weird valve issue... probably due to me driving it pretty hard  :oops:
