1Y IP problem
« on: December 09, 2014, 07:37:21 am »
Hello,

I have a problem with my 1Y 1.9D...

The IP was leaking then i put an 1.6D to run for a few days, but the car won't start with that IP from 1.6D.

So, i put back on the 1.9D IP, but now the rpm when i press on gas it doesn't go further then 2800rpm, stays stuck there.

I didn't change anything on the IP, everything is aligned. I can't figure out what's going on.

Anyone have seen something like this?

Thanks in advance. ;)

Another thing, this engine should run with an 1.6D IP or not?

It should absolutely run with the 1.6 IP though it's not at all ideal.

From where it senda rpm info to the dash? I think is from the IP, because i let 2 wires disconnected which they are connected on the middle of injetor pipes. I don't know if is the correct name. Sorry.
And i didn't have rpm and oil light was blinking

RPM comes from the alternator, there's a 'W' terminal that sends that signal.

Assuming you still have the 1Y in its Mk3 chassis the second wire probably went to a timing solenoid on the side of the pump. It's job was to block off the advance on the pump for NOx emissions reasons. The engine definitely won't start if you flip those two.

Oh wait, sorry that would have been a timing related sensor as well though I doubt the cluster was getting a signal from it. What car is this in?

Is a Seat Ibiza 6k from 1997.
It seems strange to me how he gets rpm from the IP.

After i advance the IP it stays stuck on 2800rpm, but before when it gets to 2800 it sounded like he was revving ...
