Sorry I couldn't take a picture, I have to leave early in morning and thought I would just try to make a post before leaving town.

I never knew this issue existed, I am bringing this car back to life and just went to change bushings and noticed the top drivers side steering rack stud is rattling around.

I just assume that the clamp should mount straight up/down flat with the firewall?

I can lay the stud piece right into where it cracked free with a perfect outline.  But it looks to me that the forces acted as a puller towards the engine side and that whole area is raised out from the firewall.  So if I attached the clamp as is the top one would be cocked out further.

I am getting confused though because there is a lower curved area on firewall that looks like it would be factory not from trauma so I'm not sure.  Bushings look flat on that side without a relief.  I originally thought I could just weld it back into place where it sits like a piece to a puzzle.  If it is supposed to be flat in that area I'm not even sure how to get this area down.  I would have to smash it down a considerable amount.
