i actually just went and bought 2, of course the big box store has a crappy selection of metric fasteners, the hardware store didn't have them long enough, so i had to go to york fastener to get the right length, which actually they didn't even have because it is some where between 45-50mm i think i used 45mm.  btw for anyone searching in the future the bolt is a m8x1.25pitch and 45mm long.   but thanks very much for the offer.

You don't have to get it exactly the same length, as long as it fits and has enough threads going into the head. It's more important that it be the proper grade strength, equivalent to OEM or higher for any given application.

If there is an "industrial" hardware store anywhere around you, go there.

I don't like to re-use hardware too much. It wears out. Fasteners have a limited number of torque cycles they can endure before they fatigue.
