AAZ EGR blank off?
« on: July 16, 2009, 03:16:36 am »
Hey guys... Im gonna rebuild my K03 on the AAZ soon, I was wondering how to blank off the egr on an AAZ...  should I do it? Will I have any benefits from doing it?

Secondly whats the sequence of connecting all those vacum pipes on a 95 mk3 aaz. I am installing new egr solenoids, there are two in my car. I was using the car with none of them connected: the revs would suddenly go 2500 and the engine would idle there... can the solenoids be blammed for that?

Any help is appreciated.

The EGR will clog up the intake and ports in the head. It doesn't seem to be any where near as bad as the TDIs though.

unbolt it and make and fit two plates over the holes. thin ally/steel plate with two holes will suffice.

blank off the vacuum line.

no noticeable gains.  :(
