Speedometer woes!
« on: October 09, 2008, 08:53:54 pm »
Anyone ever heard of a speedometer off by almost 20 kilometers an hour?!!
It doesnt really bother me, but it does make those times driving past cops a little sketchy. As well as make shift points confusing!

Fixes?

if you notice, the speedo starts at 20.  if the speedo starts moving as soon as you start moving, then theres a problem with the gear on the cluster.  i had this happen on a golf.  80=60 60=40 etc... just do the math   on my jetta the speedo is off by about 5-10km/h

Is that how it works when its off?!?!? I had no clue where to look at when it comes to the speedo being off. Mine is off by 10mph. Says Im doing 60mph when I'm really doing 50. I guess thats good for cops though.

sorry for the jackery.

I found it hilarious at first. Thinking im doing 120 everywhere only to find ive been doing the speed limit the whole time. And that when I though I was doing the speed limit it was actually much slower. So where do I look if I decide to "try" and fix it?
