Ok I'm not a full regular on here but I can say this much. From the way my 91 ECO ran before I had Giles work my IP, till now after he did his magic what a difference. So much better throttle response and power. As for smoke, can't really tell since it was dark on my first test run. But I can say this much, getting the Jetta up to 75mph on the I-40 on ramp was really easy. I had him add the LDA to the IP so it is a true TD but as most of you know my small K-14 KKK turbo doesn't put out the boost like most. It was maxing out at 10psi. Now to open up the exhaust on this thing. I know most are on a tight budget but if you are considering it Giles is the man for these IP's.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the additional charge for an LDA addition?

Did you upgrade the injectors to match, or still using stockers?

He didn't quote me each listing cost, just a total to have the pump overhauled and minor modding since I'm running stock boost and small turbo. He also removed the governor.
I bought new TD injectors and had them checked as well just to make sure. My luck has not been the best so I'm being causious. Like tonight, I'm trying to change out the drive flange seals and i can't get the flange to compress enough to remove the C clip, I'm bending a 1/2 steel bar stock and it will not move. Nothing is easy it seems when ever I try to do something.
If anyone does send a pump to Giles, just make sure you use the US postal service and not UPS.

What does giles charge for his services? does he change the pump head or the cam plate?

He dosen't say what all he does. All I know is that it made a difference for me. It wasn't cheap. I look at it this way, I don't have much of a life, no real hobbies, not a sports person, but I like to tinker on vehicles some. So the extra I spend on this the better in terms of economy and lifespan of the vehicle in a sense. Some spend thousands on huge wheels and tires and stereo systems. I like to ride with just the sound of a well tuned vehicle that performs well.

My cost was just over $900 plus shipping.

Rat: Those flanges can really stick. I had to pound a pair off of my old AWY with a hammer to get them off. I destroyed the gearbox cases and damaged the flanges. A half hour with a punch and I was able to fix up the flanges well enough for the axles to slip into them. The funny thing is that they slipped onto the AGS without any trouble.

One trick I used before was to use the air chisel and a pointed bit pushed into the hole in the center which is actually the diff. The force managed to work the flange off in a matter of seconds. I'm not sure just how good that was for the threads, but oh well.

Oh, and does anyone know how much 12mm pump heads go for? I can get them at what I think is a pretty reasonable price but would have to order them in quantity.

you can make a simple tool that'll pull or compress the flange using threaded rod, a couple nuts and bolts, and some strong steel bar.
